Cloud architecture on Azure
Services designed for reliability first, with orchestration you can reason about.
Architected App Services, Durable Functions, Service Bus and SignalR with a deterministic model for long-running workloads.
Systems Architect · Calgary
I design and build the platforms behind business-critical software — .NET, SQL Server and Azure — and lead the teams that take them to production.
About
I'm a Systems Architect at Critical Control Technologies in Calgary, where I own platform, data and cloud architecture for a suite of oil & gas production accounting, measurement and monitoring products built on .NET/C#, SQL Server and Azure.
I've been building software for 15 years — web, desktop and mobile — starting in Moldova with teams serving clients in Switzerland and the life-sciences industry, and in Calgary since 2019. Before my current role I spent four years as a senior developer and team lead, running delivery from architecture and code review to CI/CD and release.
I like the hard, unglamorous problems: long-running workloads that must not lose data, databases that keep growing, cloud bills that keep growing faster — and teams that need a clear way of working.
Based in Calgary, Alberta. Studied at Moldova State University. Download my CV (PDF).
What I bring
Services designed for reliability first, with orchestration you can reason about.
Architected App Services, Durable Functions, Service Bus and SignalR with a deterministic model for long-running workloads.
High availability, replication, performance tuning and data that keeps growing.
Led Availability Group and replication design, and built resumable archiving for high-volume time-series tables.
Right-sized infrastructure, so the platform costs what it should.
Cut Azure costs by rightsizing App Service Plans and consolidating SQL Server VMs — without impacting availability.
One identity strategy across a whole product suite.
Evaluated self-hosted and managed identity platforms and integrated Microsoft Entra ID as an external identity provider.
Hiring, standards and a delivery process that teams actually follow.
Led multiple teams, created a hybrid Agile/continuous-delivery framework, and owned technical hiring for developer, QA and BA roles.
Comfortable from SQL to React — and bringing AI tooling into the team's daily work.
Standardized React frontends on Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui, and built internal MCP servers for AI-assisted access to Azure DevOps.

Building a platform on .NET and Azure, or need an architecture that holds up in production? I'd like to hear about it.
